Going Through A Relapse

Hey everyone… How are you all?

So it’s 25/06/17 and I’m still battling through this relapse.. I’m determined to make the tiniest of steps to improvement but at the moment my body just wants rest.. today in particular hasnt been too great. My anxiety has been quite high and I’ve been crying for no apparent reason (anyone else get that and no it’s not PMT lol) this morning in particular was bad.. crying every 5 mins and getting really anxious and things I couldn’t even explain.

As the day has gone on however, I’ve pulled myself together and found things that have taken my mind off my anxiety and help me get through this day.. I’m going to go through what’s helped me and kept me focused.

1) Crying is NOT a sign of weakness

Sometimes we just need a good cry, letting everything out really helps my anxiety and I feel when I hold back the tears thing just build up and up… Even if I can’t explain why I’m crying.. I sometimes say that I need to get it out and then I’ll be okay.

2) Finding something to watch that takes your mind off things

For me these are Horror films mainly.. your all probably the thinking (why horror films, surely they’d make you more anxious?!) Well for me they don’t.. they really take my mind off the problems I’m having and I focus on what’s going on in the film.. especially if it’s a good suspense one!

I also like to watch YouTube too.. some videos help me to escape.. some people have mentioned watching or listening to a meditation video… This is great and all very well and good.. but when you’re in the middle of an anxiety attack or you generally feel tense/emotional… Meditation doesn’t really help (well not for me) when I’m a bit calmer and not so teary then breathing exercises and mediation really helps – I often listen to this just before I go to sleep at night.

3) Aroma Therapy oil diffuser

I have literally just bought one of these off Amazon today.. here is the link – http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N6NOWRB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_z19tzbCS44S3K

I’ve heard so many positive things about these to help you relax so I’ll let you know how I get on with this πŸ™‚

4) My Bullet Journal

I’m not going to talk about this too much as I do talk about it alot! But I find my Bullet Journal such a comforter! I write anything in here and also plan things in it too 😊

5) Connecting with Others

This has been such a massive help to me over the last week or two.. mainly through the Facebook group @survivinglifeshurdles and I set up it’s amazing and we all just chat together and ask each other all sorts of questions.. and I feel like we connect really well.. if anyone reading this would like to come and join us.. then here is the link for that too πŸ™‚ http://www.facebook.com/groups/718223168361813/

6) Research and Exploring new diets (Veganism)

And finally for me taking my mind off things by exploring and researching new diets that could possibly help really takes my mind off feeling low and anxious etc..  exploring and researching the different foods we eat.. why and how they helps us.

I’ve been doing a lot of researching and exploring “Veganism” and everytime I see something.. it’s always positive.. eg. Healthy hair, healthy nails, healthy skin, feeling more alert, more energy and generally feeling happy. Food is our drug and sometimes we pick the wrong kind and they become addictive… I’m going to try and ditch the rubbish food and indulge in foods that will hopefully be good for me.

Now I need to finish what I have in the cupboards and fridge first (I hate wasting food) but once I have.. then I’m going to venture on into the Vegan world.. I’ve been vegetarian before and found it alright… To be honest I think I only went back to being a carnivore because I got lazy! Not this time I now need to pull my finger out and start looking after my body.. and heloing animals why I do that… Great!

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post… I hope some people have found it helpful? And I’d love to hear your comments below!

Much Love

Another MS relapse!Β

Hey everyone..  well… We are here again!! Another MS relapse!

So.. how did it come about you’re all wondering?! Well with an MS relapse you never really know how they happen.. I suppose you’re more susceptible if you have an infection or have really over done things.. but this wasn’t the case this time. I’ve been feeling more fatigue lately and have had little twinges and things… But Tuesday night I went to bed with pretty severe nerve pain down my left side and in my legs.. I took 2 solpadol tablets and went to sleep.

Wednesday morning I woke up and still have a bit of pain and felt extreme exhaustion.. I continued to get ready for work etc, then George and I left for work. Whilst on the bus I came over even more fatigued to the point I started feeling almost faint! Then the feeling down my left side went!! I could feel my arm, face and leg!

I grabbed George and he took my things and told me to get off the bus.. I went to stand up and just fell! It was so ebarrassing, George had to pull me up and drag me off the bus! Then comes the fear and emotions.. in tears at the bus stop I ring the hospital.. the receptionist told me to come straight to A&E.. here we go again then!

I get a call from my dad.. he was currently up north working (he also lives up there too) he immediately said “I can cancel my day, would you like me to come down?” And as soon as I said yes he was in the car and on his way!

After getting to the hospital, having a ton of tests, George and my dad insisting the take photos to cheer me up.. the doctors said it was more than likely to be another MS relapse but we needed to wait to see if anything changed in 24-48 hours… So, I could go home!

And here we are! I’ve been resting a lot and getting a lot of help from my lovely George.. I honestly don’t know where Id be without him! Hes having to do an awful lot for me at the moment.. dressing me and getting ready etc.. if you have someone who looks after you, hopefully youll understand how grateful I am to have him around.

If anyone has any questions just let me know in the comments and I’d love to connect with you all! I hope you’re all having a good day and I’ll just try and get through this relapse… Again!!

Love you all!

May FavouritesΒ

Hello Everyone! I know this post will be going up at the beginning of June lol but I still wanted to include it as I’ve been LOVING some great things throughout May 😊
I hope you all enjoy this blog post.. if you would like to see the video version.. head on over to my YouTube channel — http://www.youtube.com/hannahsmithswj 😊

Right…let’s dive in!

Cruelty Free Beauty

So.. this month I purchased a whole new skincare range from The Body Shop… I was having some problems with my skin (excess oil and break out, which I don’t normally get) that I put down to the skin care I was using.. as I was walking to Boots I stopped at The Body Shop’s window and thought I’d give them a try instead!

I got a whole range from cleansing, makeup remover, creams and exfoliants.. let’s just say.. I went all out lol! I was also assured that all the products I purchased had NOT been tested on animals as that is what The Body Shop Prides in.. #foreveragainstaninaltesting and this was great for me because I wanted to change all of my beauty /makeup to cruelty free… So Beauty/Skincare –} βœ“

So I’ve been using their products for almost three weeks and I LOVE them! My favourites have to be The Cleansing Butter and The Refreshing Eyes Cube these two are just amazing!! The cleansing butter literally melts away your makeup, including eye makeup! (Be gentle!!) And the refreshing eye cube is perfect to give you a bit of a wake up call in the mornings.. it’s cooling and refreshing under the eyes with a hint of pigment to make your eyes seem a little brighter!

I would highly recommend all these products I have purchased and used as they are so GREAT! The Vitamin C Microdermabrasion Exfoliator is amazing too and leaves your skin feeling amazingly soft.. and finally the Vitamin E range is perfect to suit all skin types.. the day moisturiser which is called Sorbet gives your skin a matte appearance but still feels moisturising..

So yes… These products I’m absolutely LOVING and I WILL be back to repurchase once I need to.. The one thing I think The Body Shop could do to help new buyers.. is maybe get a selection of ‘Skincare Minis’ just so people could try the products out before spending a lot of money on full size items… Just a thought 😊

Fleur DeForce Eyelure Lashes – 3/4 Length

I’ve had probs for a while now where I have big gaps in my eye lashes… So when I put Mascara on they just look weird and you can really notice the gap (I’ve been told it’s a family trait!) So I wanted to get some False strip lashes… My sister raved about Fleur’s Lashses (Fleur Loves) so I decided to pick myself up some too..

The great thing about these lashes is that they are 3/4 Length so you don’t have to cut them down!! Also on application they are so easy!! I wear them every day and people have said to me that they look really natural and pretty, which is lovely to hear.. I was a little self conscious about my own eyelashes, however now I can wear these with pride and I don’t even use Mascara! They fab!

My New Bullet Journal

For my birthday this year, my amazing boyfriend bought me a new Bullet Journal.. this one was a Leuchtturm 1917 fuchsia pink colour and I LOVE it!! I love how the pages are already numbered too! I won’t talk too much about it because you all know how much I love bullet journalling and hows it’s helped me.

I have got some new colouring pens however, which I love too.. They are the PaperMate Flair Felt tips, TomBow ABT 623 Pens and Staedtler Triplus Colour Pens. I really love the different colours and styles of these pens.. and they don’t bleed in the pages too.. although the I’m now not allowed to buy anymore as I have far too many now lol!

New FaceBook Group – ‘Chat MS’

For a while now I’ve wanted to set up a group of some discription for young people living with Multiple Sclerosis.. being diagnosed at 24 I felt quite alone and almost out-casted because I couldn’t do the normal things a 24 year old could do… Even though my true friends were and are amazing.. I just wished I had someone to talk to who really understood what I was going through.. this is when I decided to create the Facebook group “Chat MS – Newly Diagnosed/Young People” a lovely fellow blogger Natalie from http://www.survivinglifeshurdles.co.uk has and is helping me to make our group grow and I absolutely love it! We have around 13 members are the moment.. but will welcome more with open arms.. this is something I feel very passionately about and I’d love to be there for younger people living with this chronic illness.

Natalie designed a fabulous graphic piece for our background :- Please share our group so hopefully more people can find us 😊  https://www.facebook.com/groups/718223168361813/

Baths

Now who doesn’t love a nice relaxing bubble bath? I literally have baths all the time.. I find for me it relaxes me so much and helps with any MS nerve pains I may be experiencing.. just lay back.. put your favourite series on and relax! The more bubbles the better 😊😊

And that my lovely lot is the end of my May Favourites 😊 it’s only been a short blog because I’ve been so busy throughout May that it’s been difficult to note down everything I’ve been oving.. however the things I have mentioned are genuine favourites and this blog post is in no way sponsored.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day 😊

Love Hannah
